Collecting Global Guide data

The Global Guide's creation was inspired by demand from members companies, and the collection of data using the standard is no different! This year, CECP is asking for 2012 company data under both the Global Guide and CGS Valuation Guidance standard because CECP's data collection is in transition. Member companies will lead us in this transition through participation and feedback to ensure the full range of corporate contribution data is seamlessly available. New, multinational firms will join the effort and strengthen and expand the data available in years to come!

Email Carmen Perez if your company is interested in contributing to the study of global corporate contributions. The deadline is July 15th. To be included in a planned feature piece in Giving in Numbers, the deadline is May 15th.

More than US$5 billion in corporate giving data was reported to the Global Guide Short Survey pilot from companies in North America, South America, and Europe. Thirty prominent companies led the industry by submitting data to this flagship survey.

Developing the Global Guide: Expanding the Boundaries of Corporate Giving

How does a global company know what counts as a charitable contribution when each country around the world classifies NGOs in differing ways?

CECP sought to answer that question and now provides clear, concise guidance through Developing the Global Guide to What Counts: Expanding the Boundaries of Corporate Giving, which was developed with pro bono support from Deloitte.

The report colorfully outlines the variety and complexity of the giving guidelines in 17 nations with the highest concentrations of Fortune Global 500 firms. From no tax deductions in Russia to required giving in Brazil, the report's detail encourages an appreciation of the simplicity and necessity of the report's findings.
