CECP’s Board of Boards CEO Conference, consistently rated one of the World’s Top Executive Gatherings in Weber Shandwick’s annual Five Star Conference Analysis, is a unique opportunity for corporate leaders to share insights and best practices and to help advance the business case for corporate community investment. By congregating for this event, global CEOs demonstrate their commitment to CECP’s mission — to lead the business community in raising the level and quality of corporate philanthropy.

This year, in order to bring this important conversation on corporate community investment to a broader audience, CECP will convene three Board of Boards CEO Conferences, including two international locations.

  • February 22, 2010 New York City

  • May 6-7, 2010 London, United Kingdom

  • November 11, 2010 Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

The Board of Boards CEO Conference produces valuable insights from participating executives. Results from the 2009 program in New York include:

  • 92% of participating CEOs are personally involved in their company’s corporate philanthropy programs.

  • 82% of attendees indicated that philanthropy can help restore trust in the business sector.

  • 80% of business leaders in attendance consider their employees and customers to be the most important constituencies when crafting giving strategies.

  • Businesses must identify areas of overlap between causes which are central to business strategy and which also target areas of greatest social need.

  • Executives should work to sustain existing commitments to nonprofit partners by leveraging non-cash corporate resources and pro bono service.

  • Securing the support of shareholders requires philanthropic programs to be structured, strategic, and consistent with business objectives.

  • Measurement is key; companies should continually track and evaluate the impact of their philanthropic efforts.

  • Employee and customer expectations require that businesses invest in the communities they touch.
