Survey Guide, Question 15: Contributions by Gender
This
question asks that you break down the total giving in Question 9 by the gender
of the end-recipient of the contribution. The organization to which the
contribution is made does not need to have a gender focus, so long as the
contribution is made to serve a specific gender.
Example: A grant is made to
Columbia University to establish a “Women in Science” scholarship fund.
Columbia is not a gender-specific organization; however, the end-recipients of
this scholarship will be female students. Therefore, the money for this grant
should be categorized as “Females.”
