A higher standard for the greater good.


Truly effective philanthropic partnerships require more than good intentions. In order to provide a framework that helps companies create efficient, effective, and sustainable results for both the business and the community, CECP has established the following Standards of Excellence for corporate philanthropy, which represent the principles we believe are crucial to raise the bar for corporate giving.

CEO Leadership — Demonstrating the active involvement of a committed CEO or executive team to a company’s philanthropic efforts.

Innovation — Going beyond the traditional boundaries of corporate philanthropy to explore new ways of addressing social problems and creatively using corporate resources such as employee time, business partnerships, and product donations.

Measurement — Capturing data on various aspects of corporate philanthropy and employing this information to create more competitive giving strategies that achieve business and social objectives.

Partnership — Enabling program sustainability, scalability, and effectiveness by working closely with nonprofit partners to ensure that essential needs are met and corporate assets are best leveraged.
