Aftermath of the October 2005 Earthquake--View Photos

The magnitude 7.6 earthquake that hit the morning of October 8, 2005 resulted in widespread destruction. Images from the earthquake's immediate aftermath illustrate the complete ruin of homes, schools, hospitals, and communities.

Reconstruction: SAERF-funded facilities--View Photos

SAERF's grantee, the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), is constructing 16 health and education facilities in the earthquake-affected region. All the facilities are scheduled to be completed by December 31, 2008. PPAF will then oversee two-years of operations and maintenance for the facilities, afterwhich the Pakistani government will assume responsibilty of these facilities.
